Casual Bar Staff
Overview: Parkdale Yacht Club is looking for flexible and enthusiastic casual bar staff to join our pool of event staff. The role primarily involves working at weddings, engagements, milestone parties, christenings, and celebrations of life, with shifts mainly on Fridays, Saturdays, some Sundays and the occassional weekday. As part of a staff pool, you’ll have the freedom to pick and choose your shifts, offering great flexibility around your schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Serve beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) efficiently and courteously during events. Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) guidelines. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for cash and card transactions. Set up, stock, and restock the bar as required during events. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth service during events. Provide friendly, professional service to guests. Assist with closing duties, including packing up of tables and chairs.
Requirements: Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. Previous bar experience preferred but not essential as we can train you on the job. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during large events.

Casual Duty Manager
Overview: Parkdale Yacht Club is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to oversee the smooth operation of events, including weddings, engagements, milestone parties, christenings, and celebrations of life. This is a casual role with flexible shifts, allowing you to choose the events and dates that best fit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the overall running of an event, ensuring everything operates smoothly and efficiently. Lead and support bar and wait staff, providing guidance to maintain high standards of service. Ensure all RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) policies are followed by staff and guests. Act as the primary point of contact for clients and guests during the event, addressing any concerns or issues that arise. Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring they are prepared as per client requirements. Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring the bar is adequately supplied throughout the event. Handle cash, reconcile the till, and oversee POS (Point of Sale) transactions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for staff and guests. Liaise with the kitchen or catering team to ensure seamless service. Assist with closing duties, including securing the premises and ensuring all areas are clean and organized.
Requirements: Experience in a duty manager or supervisory role within hospitality or events. Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. Ability to manage staff and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling issues. Flexibility to work primarily on weekends and some weekdays, with the option to pick and choose which events or dates suit. Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor under pressure.
